you have heard comments from users in your computing environment like “This
computer is so slow” or “The internet takes forever to load a page.” Maybe you are interested in looking
at options for backing up data, managing what users are able to do, and not do
on computers? Maybe you’re
interested in setting up a secure wireless network? Many times, there can even be
technical issues under the surface that you might not even be aware of,
resulting in poor performance. Regardless of the situation, the South Dakota Broadband Technology Planning Team
would like to extend an open invitation to help.
first step is to perform a Technology Assessment. The Technology Assessment process involves three phases:
1. To give a detailed description of what your current infrastructure consists of.
2. To evaluate the infrastructure and determine its strengths and weaknesses with
respects to current hardware, daily practices and cyber security.
To work with you in developing a plan to implement any changes or improvements,
and assisting in the implementation.

initial Technology Assessment is done on-site, at your facility, and typically
takes about ½ to 1 day, depending on the size of your environment.
South Dakota Broadband Technology Planning Team can also be utilized as a
resource for ongoing technology consultation, and can even help with your
current infrastructure in most cases. As part of the South Dakota Broadband Initiative, this is all available
at no charge to you.
